Abstract

The research aims to clarify the importance of contemporary theoretical trends in social work in the environmental field as an emerging field within the domains of social work practice. It seeks to promote and develop environmental awareness to protect the environment and contribute to addressing environmental problems resulting from human activities interacting negatively with their environmental surroundings. The research addresses the most important theoretical trends that have provided a social interpretation of the relationship between humans and the environment and explained the factors that have led to environmental problems. Additionally, the research discusses the main approach adopted by professional social work practice, which provides a theoretical framework for social workers and researchers to interpret and analyze the patterns of interaction with the environment,paving the way for professional intervention based on theories that include applied strategies representing the therapeutic aspect of social work.
