Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between achievement motivation and emotional balance among male and female students in their final year of secondary school in Tobruk, Libya. The study sample consisted of 166 students randomly selected from the final year of secondary school in Tobruk. The sample included both genders (53 males and 113 females) and both academic specializations (58 literary and 108 scientific). Results: The findings revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between achievement motivation and emotional balance. This indicates that students with higher levels of achievement motivation tend to exhibit higher levels of emotional balance. The study found statistically significant differences in achievement motivation favoring males, who demonstrated higher levels compared to females. The study revealed statistically significant differences in emotional balance favoring females, who demonstrated higher levels compared to males. Specialization: No statistically significant differences in emotional balance were found between students in the literary and scientific sections. The study indicated that the levels of both achievement motivation and emotional balance were high among the study sample.
