Abstract

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of God. This is a research I have named (Returning Some Libyan Words to Their Arabic Origins), attempting to reconcile the rules of Arabic with some of the dialectal expressions found in the linguistic anthologies and documenting them. I have divided it into two sections. The first is an introduction about the dialect, its counterparts, and its status in six points. The second section is the return of some Libyan dialect words to their Arabic origins in eight points, which include examples from the Libyan dialect related to linguistic, morphological, and grammatical issues, in the chapters on pluralization, attribution, indeclinable nouns, substitution of vowels and letters in word structure, and vowel shifts. It appears to me from its results that there is a general and specific relationship between language and dialect, and that they are synonymous in the understanding of the ancients and the intention of the moderns, and that many dialect expressions have origins in the sources of the Arabic language.
