Abstract
Aim: This study aimed to identify the difficulties hindering secondary school female students from practicing school sports activities in the city of Gharyan. Methodology: To achieve the study’s objectives, the researcher employed the descriptive analytical approach. A questionnaire consisting of (26) items distributed across five domains was administered to a sample of (171) female students from secondary schools in Gharyan. Data were analyzed using arithmetic means, standard deviations, and relative weights. Key Findings: The results revealed that the primary barrier to sports practice in Gharyan schools is "institutional" in nature. Administrative and organizational difficulties ranked first with a relative weight of (89.12%), followed by material facilities and equipment at (87.13%); both were classified with a "very high" level of severity. Religious and privacy-related difficulties ranked third at (83.00%), while subjective (psychological) difficulties ranked fourth at (74.67%). Finally, social and family-related difficulties ranked last at (70.67%). Recommendations: The study recommends the necessity of providing indoor sports halls to ensure privacy for female students and to suit the climatic conditions of Gharyan. It also emphasizes activating administrative policies that support physical education classes and providing the essential equipment for their implementation.
