Abstract

This research discusses the impact electronic games on students of academic achievement. Electronic games have become widely popular among children and adolescents due to technological development and the spread of smart devices. The study explains that electronic games have both positive and negative effects. On the positive side, they can help develop thinking skills, concentration, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making skills, especially educational games. On the negative side, excessive use of electronic games may lead to wasting time, distraction, social isolation, aggressive behavior, and weak academic performance. The research also shows that the effect of electronic games depends on the type of game and the way it is used. Educational games can support learning when used in moderation and under parental and school supervision. The study concluded that excessive use of electronic games negatively affects students’ academic achievement. Therefore, the research recommends organizing playtime, encouraging the use of educational games, increasing parental supervision, and raising awareness about the dangers of excessive gaming.
