Abstract

This study addresses the importance of sexual education in child upbringing, focusing on comparing different educational theories in this field. Sexual education is considered a fundamental element in the development of children’s sexual identity and psychological and social growth. The study aims to explore the impact of sexual education on children’s psychological growth and the importance of its inclusion in educational curricula. The research relies on a review of existing literature and data analysis from multiple studies, identifying gaps in knowledge concerning sexual education and its effects on children. The findings indicate that sexual education contributes to enhancing self-awareness and fostering moral values among children, thereby reducing risks associated with unhealthy sexual development. Additionally, the results suggest that appropriate sexual education can be an effective tool in minimizing risk-taking behaviors and promoting mental health. Furthermore, the study highlights the necessity of providing a safe educational environment that encourages open discussions on sexual topics, enhancing children's understanding of their rights and responsibilities in this context. The study concludes that sexual education should be considered an integral part of school curricula, and educational programs must be developed to accommodate cultural and social differences. The study recommends the need for training teachers and equipping them with the necessary resources to deliver sexual education effectively.
