Abstract
Islam is inherently strong and does not have a complex with the West, but rather a civilizational struggle. At its inception, Islam sought to engage with the "other," and the response from Christians was generally more positive, playing a significant role in the early period of Islam. However, the conversion of Jews to Islam was minimal. Despite this, the few Jews who did convert had a profound impact, with one even becoming one of the ten companions promised paradise. Their conversion rate remained low, even during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was a perfect model and an inspiring leader. This reluctance might be attributed to the Jews’ ancient attachment to their heritage, their insular self- confinement, and their ethnic superiority, focusing solely on the fate of the Jewish people. In more recent times, reports suggest that Jewish conversions to Islam are rare and often secretive, as leaving Judaism is not a simple matter. This research highlights a unique Jewish figure who had a significant impact on Islamic thought and contemporary Islamic history after converting to Islam and advocating for it.
