The role of scientific research in sustainable development from the perspective of faculty members at the University of Tobruk

Abstract

This study aims to find out the role of the scientific research and graduate studies in Tobruk university in achieving the sustainable development, through the application of the study on the Libyan universities operating in Tobruk , which teach graduate studies. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher followed the descriptive analytical method. The study sample consisted of (120) faculty members work at economic department those at Tobruk university, where they were selected in a manner stratified random sample. The study used a questionnaire as the main factor of the data collection, then making the necessary statistical analyzes and test hypotheses using statistical analysis software SPSS. The most important findings of the residency are that the role of scientific research and postgraduate studies is of great importance in meeting the requirements of development, and a national strategy must be developed that directs scientific research and postgraduate studies, to benefit from the results.
