Abstract

This paper deals with the social conditions in Sudan during the tenth century AH and sixteenth AD; To highlight the most important writings of historians, geographers and travelers about the social conditions of the country of Sudan, and this study also dealt with the layers of Sudanese society in its social concept, which is the social shift from the bottom to the top or vice versa, which is known as social mobility. The study showed that the Arab-Islamic civilization had a great impact on the aspects of social life and the patterns of life in the country of Sudan, and the migrations coming from North Africa had a great role in establishing Arab civilization in Sudanese societies. As the region was subject to Arab and Islamic influences, the people of Sudan began to be influenced by those coming to them from the North African countries, so they imitated them in housing, where they developed in its construction, and the buildings in Sudan were affected by Moroccan architecture and clothing, and in all social occasions Although the change of many of the customs that took place was difficult and slowly, in the end it was achieved by the spread of the Islamic faith, and the image of these societies change.
