Abstract
In the context of dividing the legacy of the sick man, the Ottoman Empire, in its late weaknesses, and then distributing it to the colonial Powers - France, Britain, Germany, and the other influential and controlling Security Council countries - Italy remained. The major Powers in the Security Council agreed, through their bargaining with Italy, and supported it in its occupation of Libya. However, there were motives behind Italy's occupation of Libya - political, economic and strategic motives. Political motives: to compensate for its defeat in a contagious situation when it tried to occupy Abyssinia, and also to enter into the ranks of developed and influential countries in the Security Council. Strategic motives: Libya's strategic position is that it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. This position has made Libya a link between north, east and south Africa. Economic motives: The unemployment suffered by the Italian society in order to make Libya part of Italy, which is its fourth beach, in order to solve the problem of unemployment at the expense of the best interests of Libya and its people.
