Abstract

It seems that the country's exposure to numerous wars and the lack of security during certain periods was not the only reason for the Andalusian economic collapse. Natural disasters, including the locust plague, also worsened the situation. The locust plague is an important topic that explores the definition of this dangerous pest, its native habitat, and the years during which it invaded the country, destroying agricultural crops and causing negative consequences. It also looks at the benefits derived from studying this plague, the response of successive ruling authorities toward the local population during the invasion and its effects, and how the authorities fought and dealt with the crises caused by it.
