Abstract

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, for the blessings He has bestowed and the afflictions He has averted; praise that matches His hidden favors, rewards His increased giving, and fills the layers of His earth and heaven. Then, prayers upon the gifted mercy and the bestowed grace, Muhammad, upon him be the best prayers and the purest peace. To proceed: No book has received the level of care, attention, study, and research that the Great Qur’an has. Scholars have surrounded it with their interest, researching it extensively and studying it thoroughly. They delved into its depths, capturing its secrets, and approached it from multiple aspects. Valuable works and encyclopedias have been authored in its interpretation (Tafsir), ranging from the lengthy to the concise. No one can deny the scientific value of these interpretations; indeed, some are considered comprehensive encyclopedias of various sciences. Among these great interpretations is Al-Alusi’s Tafsir, titled: Ruh al-Ma’ani fi Tafsir al-Qur’an al-’Azim wa al-Sab’ al-Mathani, which is regarded as one of the most extensive and comprehensive interpretations of the Holy Qur’an. Therefore, I decided to conduct a small research project on it, addressing a grammatical aspect that highlights the personality of this unique scholar—a towering figure of high resolve, abundant knowledge, and profound humility. I chose the research title to be: Interpretation by Implication (Tadmin) according to Imam Al-Alusi in his Tafsir: Ruh al-Ma’ani, a Grammatical Study. I have structured it as follows: an introduction and two chapters. Introduction: Includes a definition of the author and the work. Chapter One: Consists of two sections: The First Section: Implication of a verb transitive to one object carrying the meaning of a verb transitive to two objects. The Second Section: Implication of a verb transitive by a preposition carrying the meaning of a verb transitive by itself. Chapter Two: Consists of one section: The First Section: Implication of an intransitive verb carrying the meaning of a verb transitive to one object. Conclusion: Mentions the results reached by the research.
