Applications of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Academic Libraries
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to explore the contribution of artificial intelligence technologies to the development of academic library services in light of the accelerating pace of digital transformation. The study addresses the theoretical framework related to artificial intelligence and library management, highlighting its most significant applications in improving information services. It adopts a descriptive-analytical approach to examine the reality of employing these technologies in a number of academic libraries, including Benha University, Omar Al-Mukhtar University, and the University of Delaware, with the aim of identifying the level of AI implementation and its impact on enhancing research, documentation, and guidance services. The study concludes that there is a clear variation in the levels of application among these libraries, ranging from reliance on traditional methods to the advanced adoption of modern technologies. The findings also confirm that artificial intelligence technologies effectively contribute to improving the efficiency of services provided, despite the persistence of some challenges related to infrastructure and the shortage of specialized human resources. The study recommends strengthening the adoption of modern technologies and developing the academic library environment in ways that support the requirements of digital transformation.
