Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and its implications for the Palestinian cause
Main Article Content
Abstract
As a result of the Israeli entity's ongoing violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the suffering of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, Israel's expansion of Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories, and the normalization processes undertaken by Arab countries with Israel, especially with the Gulf states... Operation "Al-Aqsa Flood" was launched on October 7, 2023, and had significant positive repercussions for the Palestinians despite its heavy losses, such as: restoring the Palestinian cause to the forefront of international attention and garnering public sympathy; securing the release of prisoners; hindering American-Israeli plans like the Deal of the Century and normalization; and strengthening the role of resistance movements and the axis of resistance. As for Israel, it suffered negative repercussions, most notably: erosion of deterrence; a collapse of confidence in the army and intelligence services; a shift in the internal political landscape; increased material and human burdens; and exposure of its practices to the world.
