Abstract
Although the use of artificial intelligence tools to enhance scientific research has become essential, there is a disparity in the attitudes of scientific researchers towards the use of such tools. This Search aimed to determine the extent to which researchers hold positive attitudes towards using AI tools to improve the quality of scientific research. The study adopted an analytical descriptive approach. a questionnaire was distributed via social media to a convenience sample of scientific researchers (graduate students and faculty members at higher education institutions) in Libya during the 2025/26 academic year. The sample included (171) graduate students and (147) faculty members, bringing the total sample size to (318). The Search found that the level of positive psychological attitudes towards the use of artificial intelligence tools to improve the quality of scientific research among the study sample was high, as were the cognitive and behavioral components of these psychological attitudes. In contrast, the level of the emotional component was moderate. The study recommended organizing training courses and workshops to enhance the emotional component, by reassuring participants that using artificial intelligence tools in permitted academic activities will not diminish their academic standing or the originality of their research.
