Cloud Accounting as an Approach to Developing Accounting Systems in Modern Institutions

Abstract
This study aimed to identify the role of cloud accounting in developing accounting systems in modern institutions by measuring the level of its application and examining its impact on improving the efficiency and flexibility of the accounting system. It also sought to identify the أبرز challenges facing its implementation. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical approach, and a questionnaire was used as the main tool for data collection. It was distributed to a sample of (90) individuals working in financial and accounting departments in private companies within the service sector in Libya. The data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. The results of the study showed a high level of adoption of cloud accounting. They also indicated that this technology plays an important role in developing accounting systems by improving their efficiency, increasing their flexibility, and enhancing the quality of accounting information. The findings also revealed a statistically significant relationship between cloud accounting and the development of accounting systems. On the other hand, the study identified a set of challenges facing the implementation of cloud accounting, including information security risks, privacy issues, weak infrastructure, and resistance to change. In light of these findings, the study recommended enhancing the adoption of cloud accounting, providing training for human resources, developing technological infrastructure, and strengthening information security measures to ensure the safe and effective use of this technology.
