Abstract

This study aimed to examine the digital identity of youth and its reflection on social reality. This was achieved by identifying the nature of digital identity among youth, as well as the social and cultural factors influencing its formation within the digital space. The study also explored the extent of compatibility or conflict between youths’ digital identity and their real-life social identity, along with the forms this compatibility or conflict may take. Furthermore, it examined the impact of digital identity on patterns of social relationships and social interaction in everyday life. Finally, the study investigated the influence of digital identity on the system of social values and levels of belonging and social integration among youth. The descriptive method was adopted due to its suitability for the purposes of the study. The study reached the following findings: -Youth digital identity reflects a flexible and dynamic aspect of the self, which can be continuously modified and reshaped according to digital interactions and feedback from others. -Digital identity plays a significant role in shaping social relationships, as it expands virtual networks and enables youth to engage in diverse groups. Digital identity directly influences the system of social values among youth. -Digital identity contributes to enhancing social belonging and digital integration through participation in virtual communities, digital initiatives, and social causes.
