Abstract

This study aims to define the school principal and to identify the educational problems he faces, which include (school absenteeism, academic delay, and cheating). The researcher used the descriptive-analytical method in this study. The study concluded that the school principal is the educational leader and the main reference to which all administrative operations in the educational environment return; he bears responsibilities for planning, implementation, follow-up, decision-making, and managing the educational and social tasks entrusted to the educational process. He has a central role in the educational process. School absenteeism, academic delay, and cheating are educational problems that affect the learner’s personality. The study also found that the school principal is the primary administrative officer in the guidance team, providing administrative and counseling services that limit some of the educational problems facing learners. His services include raising learners’ awareness of the harms of skipping school on behavior and academic achievement; examining the delayed learner’s health, psychological, and social condition and helping him understand himself and his problems; and helping him make use of his personal abilities — capacities, aptitudes, skills, and interests — to overcome these problems. His services also include explaining the harms of cheating on academic achievement, teaching learners proper study methods and good time management, and strengthening religious (moral) restraint to eliminate the phenomenon of cheating.
