Abstract

This study examines the Libyan conflict by analyzing the internal and external factors that have contributed to its complexity and persistence. The research focuses on internal divisions manifested in tribal, regional, and institutional fragmentation, and how these factors have hindered the building of a modern state in Libya. It also discusses regional and international interventions, the rivalry among major and regional powers for influence within Libya, and the role of these interventions in escalating the conflict and turning it into a proxy battleground. The study concludes that understanding the Libyan crisis requires a comprehensive analysis of the intricate interplay between local and international factors and emphasizes the importance of inclusive political solutions that address these intertwined dynamics.
