Aesthetic Values in Poetic Examples from the Book: *Tashil al-Nihayah al-Ijaz fi Daraya al-I'jaz by Fakhr al-Din al-Razi

Abstract

This research aims to examine and uncover the aesthetic values embodied in poetic citations as presented in the book Tashil Nihayat al-Ijaz fi Dirayat al-Ijaz by Imam Fakhr al-Din al-Razi, who is regarded as one of the prominent scholars that significantly contributed to deepening rhetorical studies and linking them to literary texts, particularly poetic evidence, which he employed as a means of clarification, systematization, and aesthetic appreciation. The research is grounded in the following central problem: To what extent did al-Razi’s use of poetic citations contribute to highlighting the aesthetic values of the text, and what are the rhetorical criteria he relied upon in their employment? The research concludes with a set of findings.
