Main Article Content
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the reflections of the digital revolution on the values and behaviors of Libyan youth. This was achieved by identifying the most prominent social and cultural values and behaviors of Libyan youth that have been influenced by the digital revolution, determining the positive and negative effects of digital transformations on social interaction and cultural belonging among Libyan youth, and measuring the extent to which Libyan youth are able to use digital technologies in a safe and responsible manner that enhances their personal and social development. The study also sought to clarify the role that families, educational institutions, and social institutions can play in guiding youth in the use of digital technologies and reducing their negative effects. The descriptive method was adopted as it is suitable for the objectives of the study. The study reached the following results: -The digital revolution has contributed to noticeable changes in the values and behaviors of Libyan youth, as values such as openness to different cultures, ease of communication, and exchange of knowledge through the digital space have emerged. At the same time, some behaviors associated with increased reliance on digital media have appeared, which have affected the nature of direct social interaction and some traditional cultural values. -Digital transformations have positively contributed to expanding social communication networks among Libyan youth and enhancing opportunities for knowledge exchange and openness to different cultures, which helped in developing awareness and knowledge. However, they have also produced some negative effects, such as weakened direct social interaction and a decline in some aspects of cultural belonging due to increasing exposure to global digital cultures. -Libyan youth demonstrate a growing ability to use digital technologies and benefit from them in areas such as learning, communication, and the development of personal skills. However, this ability still requires greater awareness and guidance to promote the safe and responsible use of digital technologies in a way that supports their personal and social development. -Families and educational and social institutions play an important role in guiding youth toward the positive use of digital technologies through awareness, monitoring, and the promotion of digital culture. These institutions also contribute to reducing the negative effects of modern technologies by providing guidance and educational programs that support their safe and responsible use.
