A Compilation and Analysis of Hadiths Concerning the Testimony of Faith Following the Two Prostrations of Forgetfulness

Abstract

Praise be to God, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and all his companions. Since the Prophetic Sunnah became the second source of Islamic legislation, Allah, the Exalted, undertook to preserve it, so He appointed men to preserve it; they devoted themselves to studying and examining it and established rules for it. The prostration of forgetfulness has precise rulings regarding what the worshipper recites after it, and these differ depending on the timing of the prostration (whether before or after the salam). This research is titled: “Compilation and Authentication of the Hadiths Regarding the Testimony of Faith After the Two Prostrations of Forgetfulness, with Commentary as Necessary,” and these hadiths are the hadith of ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud, the hadith of al-Mughirah ibn Shu‘bah, the hadith of ‘Imran ibn Husayn, and the hadith of ‘Aishah bint Abu Bakr al-Siddiq—may Allah be pleased with them all—
