Abstract
The meadow earthquake is one of the topics that the newspaper Tripoli Al-Gharb succeeded in accurately chronicling. This event, which was recorded in the memory of the Libyans in the year of the earthquake, is synonymous with the day of February 21, 1963. Its kind in contemporary Libyan history. We dealt with the subject of the research came in the same order of events contained in the newspaper. We preceded it by examining the location of the city and its geological formation, then the occurrence of the earthquake, its timing and the initial measures taken in order to save the people from the consequences of the earthquake, then the medical efforts provided by the government immediately after the earthquake so as to avoid a health disaster in case Neglecting the catastrophic situation that the city has become, followed by talk about donations, both local and foreign, and how it was able to secure the construction of a city in a short time. Due to the enormity of its material, and we discussed what the newspaper collected for what was mentioned in the Arab and international newspapers that covered this great calamity, up to the construction stage of this city as a modern building that resists earthquakes in the event of its recurrence in the future.
