Abstract
The study aimed to identify the contents of the educational theory of Imam Al-Ghazali, by defining the features of the theoretical philosophy of education according to Al-Ghazali, the principles of education (education etiquette for the teacher and the learner), methods and methods of education, and how to benefit from them. To achieve this, the researchers followed the descriptive analytical approach in order to describe and analyze his educational views, and what the researchers had previously done, and to show their educational importance and their applications. The results showed that Al-Ghazali called for most of the principles and methods of modern education in a deeper and more honest way, because he relied on generalizing them on the foundations of Islamic education (the Qur’an and Sunnah). He was also concerned with the principle of humanizing education, and advocated that the best of education be from the best of the educator and his relationship with his students, he presented a distinctive application of the verses of the Qur’an, and excelled in interpreting them from an educational point of view, as his educational views did not conflict with human instinct, and that they depend on the awareness of the mind, the elevation of the soul and the spirit, as a means to reach the correct servitude. The study recommended the necessity of introducing or teaching a course (the ethics of the teaching profession) in the faculties of education, as mentioned by Imam Al-Ghazali.
