Establishment of Ahmed Pasha Karamanli's Rule and the foundation of the Karamanli Dynasty in the Western Tripoli at the Beginning of the Eighteenth Century

Abstract
This research addresses an important phase in the modern history of Libya, which is the establishment of the Karamanli dynasty's rule in the western Tripoli by Ahmed Karamanli and the consolidation of its foundations. The study begins by providing an overview of the political situation in Tripoli before the Karamanli dynasty's rule. It then discusses the circumstances that led to Ahmed Karamanli's rise to power in Tripoli and his subsequent efforts to solidify his rule by resisting the Ottoman Sultan's attempts to impose control over the country. Ahmed Pasha also sought to obtain an investiture decree (firman) from the Sultan to legitimize his rule. Furthermore, the research covers the major battles that Ahmed Karamanli fought to suppress rebellions and establish stability. After securing the country, he confidently proceeded to organize its affairs.
