Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the level of emotional intelligence among academically outstanding students at the secondary school level and to examine whether significant differences exist according to gender and academic specialization. The study sample consisted of 62 male and female students from secondary schools in the city of Al-Bayda. The Emotional Intelligence Scale developed by Abdel-Fattah (n.d.) was employed for data collection. The findings revealed statistically significant differences at the 0.01 level between the hypothetical mean and the mean emotional intelligence score of the study sample, in favor of the sample mean. This indicates that academically gifted students possess a high level of emotional intelligence. Furthermore, the results showed no statistically significant differences between male and female students in emotional intelligence and its dimensions at the 0.05 level. Similarly, no significant differences were found between students of scientific and literary tracks in emotional intelligence and its dimensions at the 0.05 level.
