Students' appreciation of the role of the Faculties of Education at the University of Tripoli in developing their citizenship values

Abstract

This study aims to identify the degree to which students in the Faculties of Education at the University of Tripoli value the most important citizenship values, and to determine the degree to which students value the role of the college administration, the curriculum, faculty members, and student activities in developing and promoting citizenship values among students. The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach. The sample consisted of 133 male and female students from the Faculties of Education at the University of Tripoli. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire comprised of two sections: the first section measured three dimensions of citizenship values, and the second section measured four dimensions of the roles of the Faculties of Education in developing citizenship values. The results showed that the degree to which students in the Faculties of Education at the University of Tripoli value the most important citizenship values was high, ranking first among them the values of belonging and loyalty, second among them the values of teamwork, and third among them the values of political participation.
