Abstract

This study intended to identify the role played by the university in the political upbringing of its students, and to identify some of the obstacles it confronts in accomplishing its role in the process of political upbringing of its students, and this study is considered as one of the descriptive social studies of the status of Libyan society, this research is a theoretical research based on the method of theoretical analysis by using the descriptive approach to describe the role of the university in the political upbringing of university youth and try to reach and suggest some results and proposals on the subject of research, as the university is considered one of the most important institutions of political upbringing that works to instill political values and concepts in the individual, in order to comprehend and realize contemporary political and social issues of society, and through the results of the study, it became clear that the university has an important role in the process of political upbringing, as it works through some courses to enhance the importance of instilling the values and principles of political upbringing among its students, despite the presence of some obstacles and difficulties that hinder its role in political upbringing, but the university has an important role in this aspect.
