Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of Social Communication Patterns within the Digital Environment: An Analytical Sociological Study in Libyan Society
Main Article Content
Abstract
The world has witnessed rapid technological transformations during recent decades, significantly reshaping social structures and patterns of human communication. Artificial intelligence has emerged as one of the most influential transformations affecting social and cultural domains. This study aims to analyze the impact of artificial intelligence on the transformation of social communication patterns within the digital environment, focusing on Libyan society as a community experiencing an overlapping transition between traditional structures and modern digital spaces. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach through the use of contemporary sociological theories to understand the relationship between technology and society and to analyze the effects of digital algorithms and artificial intelligence applications on social relations, cultural values, and patterns of human interaction. The study concludes that artificial intelligence has expanded the spaces of social communication while simultaneously contributing to the decline of traditional face-to-face interaction and reshaping the concepts of social relations and digital identity within Libyan society. It also reveals that intensive use of smart applications has contributed to new forms of social isolation and digital alienation, alongside the reproduction of symbolic power within cyberspace.
