The Contributions of the Educational System in Promoting Social Change in Libyan Society

Abstract

This study examines the contributions of the educational system to social change in Libyan society, focusing on its role in preparing individuals, promoting ethical and social values, and supporting cultural and social development. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical library-based methodology, relying on a review of books, previous studies, and scientific references, without conducting field research. The study addresses the relationship between education and social transformations, emphasizing the role of the educational system in empowering different social groups and redistributing educational and social opportunities, as well as the challenges facing education in this context, including educational policies, economic and social factors, infrastructure, and the alignment of curricula with societal needs. The study aims to analyze the role of education in shaping individuals’ attitudes and values, understand the contributions of the educational system to social mobility, and identify the challenges that affect education’s ability to support social change, thereby providing a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between education and Libyan society.
